Fancy a book club, but for sewing??
Every two months I'll post you a new pattern (six in total), there will be either two, 30 minute, or one, one hour, live sew along each month. You, as a team, can pick which aspects of the pattern we cover. There will be a fully administered WhatsApp chat where we all sew along together, and, in the last week of each project, we'll share our finished garments, our thoughts on the pattern companies, and our fabric choices.
The videos will be live, probably on zoom (tbc) and then links will be provided for YouTube to catch up. Attendance isn't mandatory, just helpful. At the end of each project a 30 minute live chat/show off session can be arranged if desired.
The cost of this course is £180 which includes six patterns, printed on A0 paper and posted to you. There are discount codes below if you wish to collect your packs from HQ (Tilehurst) or procure your own patterns.

Should you wish to make use of my fabric, it is charged at £15pm. Full payment is required to secure your place.
I strongly recommend washing and drying your fabric as you would your finished garment so you can sew, in confidence, knowing that they won’t shrink in the wash! (This isn’t really necessary for bags!)
FAQs:
Are the sessions online? Yes, there will be live zoom sessions monthly. These will be recorded and shared just with the attendees.
Will there be support in between the live online sessions? Yes, there is an active WhatsApp chat and queries will be answered daily.
Am I expected to sew alone? Yes, you are expected to know how to thread a sewing machine and own one, or have access to one. You will sew the project alone, with support from the live sessions, and WhatsApp chat.
Can I still join the in person classes? Yes, you can book this alongside another craft club, please contact me for prices for this.
Can I opt to supply the patterns myself? Absolutely. I aim to get better value for you all by buying wholesale but you are welcome to source them yourself.
Will all patterns be printed and posted to me? Yes, if you pick that option. Generally all sizes the pattern offers will be provided, occasionally you will be required to pick a size/height range in advance.
What patterns will you use? We aim to create a capsule wardrobe throughout the year. This is our working plan, but there is scope for change:

The other three patterns are yet to be determined, I will update the website listing and those booked on when decisions are made.
Will fitting support be available? You can get as much out of this as you put in. Particularly with the fitting of trousers and bra. If you sew a toile (a tester garment) and share fit pictures/videos, I can help with fit issues, adjustments and grading. If you just say "it doesn't fit", there isn't really much I can do to help!
You said this is for beginners, jeans are too hard?! This course will take you from an enthusiastic beginner to an intermediate sewist. Will your first toile of jeans be fabulous? Probably not. Will you learn a heck of a lot along the way? Absolutely. If you can thread a sewing machine, and cut out fabric, I can guide you through a well fitted capsule wardrobe if you are willing to put in the work.
Can men join? I can only see women's patterns? To be honest, this isn't a question I had anticipated. I am happy to run a men's pattern club, or to have them join in this and I can provide male patterns of a similar genre. Please contact me after booking if this is the case.
Do you cater for plus sizes? All of the patterns we pick will cover (up to) a 55" bust and 60/62" hip. If you're measurements are outside of this, please get in touch.
